"Hank" Harlow is a zoology and
physiology professor at the University of Wyoming and director
of the UW-NPS Research Center, a facility operated by the
University of Wyoming in conjunction with the National Park
Service and Grand Teton National Park. His research emphasis is
on environmental issues influencing the health and diversity of
plants and organisms endemic to the Grand Teton and Greater
Yellowstone ecosystem. He is also associate director for Red
Buttes Environmental Laboratory, where the effects of pollutants
on vertebrates is researched. The adaptive physiology of
badgers, bears, prairie dogs, American martens, armadillos,
vampire bats, lizards, and rattlesnakes have all been the
subjects of his varied interests. His work, and that of his
graduate students, is highlighted throughout physiology,
biochemistry, and zoology journals. Hank is a member of the
American Society of Mammalogists and American Wildlife
Federation, and referees a number of scientific journals.
